School Education

Join us for a school excursion at our new Sydney Adoption and Education Centre!

Our School Excursion Programs have been developed to inspire and encourage young people to improve the lives of animals and empowering them to be a junior animal carer and advocate. We offer programs to all Year groups that are aligned with the NSW Syllabus and led by an RSPCA NSW Education Officer.

Activities Include:

  • Guided shelter tour: Meet adorable cats, dogs, and other lovable creatures waiting for forever homes.
  • Interactive workshop: Learners engage in a fun and educational session. Topics include; positive pet care OR the animal adoption journey for Primary learners and how to become an animal welfare supporter for Secondary learners.
  • Q&A Session: Learners can ask all their burning questions about animal care and welfare to our knowledgeable team.
  • Free offerings: RSPCA stickers, activity sheets, and our AWARE Education resource to continue learning at home (https://www.rspcansw.org.au/what-we-do/education/aware/)
  • Information on animal career pathways (optional)

Duration: 2.5-3 hours

Start time: Between 8:45 am – 10:30 am (subject to your travel time needs).

Minimum group size: 10 students (if participant numbers fall below this threshold, you will need to meet the minimum excursion fee of $150).

Maximum group size: 60 students

Cost: $15 per student. Accompanying adult supervisors are free of charge at the ratio of 2 supervisors to 15 students.
