Volunteer at Home

We're looking for passionate volunteers to lend a helping hand by creating enrichment items for animals in our care. Whether you're skilled with crafts or just starting out, there's a way for everyone to get involved, even from the comfort of your home!

Help brighten the lives of our shelter animals by crafting toys, enclosures, and bedding to keep them active, warm, and engaged. Donate your creations either by mail or by dropping them off at your nearest RSPCA NSW location. Your efforts can help provide essential comfort and enrichment for our animals.

Take the first step toward becoming a home volunteer with RSPCA NSW. Your efforts, no matter how big or small, make a world of difference.

Getting Started

Come ready with a willingness to get creative, a positive attitude, and some materials, and we can provide you with any templates, patterns, or inspiration you might need! We encourage the use of recycled materials when getting started, including second-hand supplies as well as old clothing, blankets, and sheets.

No matter how you decide to help, you’ll receive ongoing support from RSPCA NSW, in addition to any comprehensive training you might require in your role. Whether you’re making toys and blankets, or pursuing another endeavour entirely, we’ll be there to help you through every stage of your volunteering journey.

Frequently Asked Questions

How else can I help support animals if I’m unable to volunteer?

If you’re unable to visit our facilities or assist our animals from home, there are still so many ways you can make a difference.

If you’d like to open your heart to an adorable animal companion, we can help you find your new best friend at one of our shelters and adoption centres. RSPCA NSW rehomes a range of animals, including cats, dogs, birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, and more! We can help you find a forever friend at any one of our facilities. You can also adopt some of our animals through our partnership with Petbarn.

Becoming a foster carer is another rewarding way to help our animals. If you’re unsure about adopting but looking to personally assist our animals, become a foster carer to help give our animals the love and attention they deserve!

As a charity, we rely on a generous network of donors and supporters to provide any training, treatment, supplies, and rehabilitation our animals may require. If you’re currently unable to volunteer, you can still donate to provide essential care to animals seeking their forever home. Your contribution, no matter how small, can provide our animals with ongoing support, giving them a better chance at enjoying a good quality of life.

RSPCA NSW facilitates a range of corporate experiences, from corporate donations and Workplace Giving to conferences and events. If you and your colleagues would like the chance to assist our shelter animals, our Corporate Support Days provide the perfect opportunity to volunteer with us.
