CRISIS: We are preparing for thousands of animals to come through our doors this winter

Right now, RSPCA has 1,774 animals in care across NSW.

80% of our animals are currently in protective custody, veterinary treatment or rehabilitation following their rescue from cruelty or neglect.

So many of these animals need extensive care to overcome their past traumas and prepare for a brighter future.

Inspector James and our dedicated Inspectorate team witness firsthand the heartbreaking situations of cruelty and neglect that these animals endure.

This winter, we’re seeing more complex cases arrive at our shelters. It means our animals are staying with us twice as long as in previous years. The average length of stay for our animals is a shocking 42 days.

We won’t give up on these innocent animals. But we can’t do this vital work without you.
