Cats are clean animals by nature and are quite fussy about where they toilet. One of the most common behavioural issues regarding cats is inappropriate toileting outside of the litter tray. Try these tips Keep your dog stimulated Preventing boredom is a great place to start. You could try freezing dog treats so your pet has to work to get them. Turn on the radio, television or search `dog entertainment` on Youtube for 10-hour videos of exciting footage for your dog to enjoy. Purchasing new toys to keep your furry friend stimulated while you`re away will make a difference to their everyday life. There are also a number of DIY ways you can enrich your pets at home, simply Google `dog enrichment DIY` and you will be amazed at how many ideas are out there! Increase social time Expand your dog`s world and increase social time by going for walks, visiting the dog park, teaching them tricks and rotating their toys. If you don`t have time to take your dog for extra walks or playtime, consider asking a friend, family member or reputable professional for help! Chat to your local vet to see if they know of anyone offering these kinds of services in your area. Consider a behavioural specialist Consult your vet to get some help and advice. Your vet may refer you to a behavioural specialist for assessment and treatment. Your local RSPCA NSW veterinary hospital or shelter can also assist. RSPCA NSW recommends that any behaviour specialist you consult should practise positive reinforcement training techniques as the basis of training. This simply means rewarding `good` behaviour and avoiding reinforcing `unwanted` behaviour. Your veterinarian can provide further advice. Train your dog Training can be a useful tool to combat barking. See a step-by-step training guide here. FIND OUT MORE Contact us Please fill out the below form so we can assist you further.
