It Takes a Community to Help Animals in Need

RSPCA NSW proudly operates five animal shelters, three veterinary hospitals, a behaviour and rehabilitation centre, and a cutting-edge education centre. These facilities provide housing, treatment, and compassionate care to thousands of animals every year.

Our mission involves more than simply providing shelter care; we offer extensive training and resources for animal lovers and their pets, nurturing communities that share our love for all creatures, great and small. Our teams work tirelessly to facilitate adoptions, comfort lost or vulnerable animals, and provide protection and medical care for those who have suffered cruelty or neglect.

In addition to our primary facilities, our organisation further consists of eighteen volunteer branches and supporter groups. We also are a Registered Training Organisation, helping to guide and educate individuals who are passionate about animal welfare.

Our partnership with Petbarn adoption centres further amplifies our reach, allowing us to give more animals the chance to find the loving forever families.

With the help of the collective efforts of our community, including our partners, staff, supporters, and volunteers, we strive to continue to make a positive impact on the lives of animals in need.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which RSPCA NSW locations offer veterinary services?
Our Sydney Adoption Centre, Hunter Shelter and Broken Hill facility offer veterinary services to members of the public as well as shelter animals.
While our shelters and adoption centres can accommodate injured stray animals, you will need to refer to your local council pound if you find an uninjured stray.

Any revenue made by our shelters, retail stores, and veterinary hospitals goes back to our organisation to be used to help animals in need. We use funds primarily to provide enrichment, nutrition, housing, and veterinary care for the animals who turn to our facilities for help.

We know that financial circumstances alone are not reflective a person’s capacity to love a companion animal, which is why we also allocate resources to keeping people and pets together. From outreach animal assistance to targeted human and animal support, we strive to ensure that factors such as a lack of affordable veterinary care don’t get in the way of the human and animal bond.

Our shelters, adoption centre, and behavioural and rehabilitation centre all support and facilitate animal adoptions. RSPCA NSW rehomes a range of adorable animals, including dogs, cats, horses, pocket pets, farm animals, and more! If you’re interested in meeting one of the animals currently available for adoption, locate your nearest RSPCA NSW facility or contact our staff or volunteers.

Please note that although we update our online lists of available animals every day, there is a chance that an animal you are interested in will have found a home prior to your arrival at our facilities.
