RSPCA NSW believes that people belong with their pets. The bonds between people and their animals make for stronger, healthier communities but, far too often, financial hardships and other obstacles get in the way. Hurdles like financial hardship, illness, and restricted access to pet-friendly housing can make caring for an animal seem like a risky, expensive strain. They can force even devoted animal carers to consider surrendering their pets to a trusted rescue group or their local animal shelter.Â
Addressing these hurdles is why we’ve developed our People and Pets Community Days, which are run by our branches and supporter groups in communities throughout NSW. These days focus on encouraging people to check in on their pet’s wellbeing and health. By providing animal behaviour advice, parasite prevention, essential supplies, and desexing vouchers, we’re paving the way to a brighter future for people and animals alike.
People and Pets Community Days are key to improving both human and animal welfare. Thanks to our incredible volunteers, we can address the hurdles facing devoted animal carers seeking assistance with their pets. Every volunteer plays a crucial role in our success. If you have passion for animal welfare and enjoy meeting like-minded people, please consider lending a helping hand by becoming a volunteer. Whether you’re interested in facilitating our community assistance programs or organising fundraising events, there’s a meaningful role waiting for you at one of our branches and community volunteer groups.
RSPCA NSW rehomes a range of different animals, from dogs, cats, and birds to horses, rabbits, and sheep! We believe that all creatures, great and small, can bring joy to our families and homes. Begin your adoption journey today and make an adorable lifelong friend!
By providing temporary homes for our animals, we can ensure they get the care they need until they are ready to be adopted. Join our network of foster carers for an incredibly rewarding experience; with your help, we can change the lives of some of the state’s most vulnerable animals.
We rely on our generous supporters to continue assisting the thousands of animals turning to RSPCA NSW for help. No matter how small your contribution, every gift makes a lifesaving difference for animals in need.
By raising funds and lending a hand to communities and their pets, our volunteers play a pivotal role in our work throughout NSW. If you have a genuine concern for animals and enjoy meeting like-minded people, consider becoming an RSPCA NSW volunteer today!
