If you don’t have a USI, you’ll be unable to receive your qualification or a statement of attainment. For information on creating your USI, or to begin a request for an exemption, please visit www.usi.gov.au.

This unit of competency is only offered in a blended format, consisting of initial online learning and a face-to-face training day.

Requirements and Prerequisites

All students must complete all online work before attending their face-to-face day. Therefore, we recommend that you enrol at least 3 weeks prior to the training day you plan to attend to ensure you have enough time to complete all online learning modules.

If you do not complete the required online learning components, you will not be allowed to attend in-person training, and you may need to reschedule to another face-to-face day. Please note that in-person training days may not occur regularly at your nearest RSPCA NSW location, and that rescheduling your class day may result in further fees being charged.

Our comprehensive Basic Animal First Aid short course covers similar content and themes taught by its nationally accredited counterpart. However, unlike our nationally accredited courses, our short courses don’t have the same examination requirements as our nationally accredited courses. Upon successfully completing any of the short courses on offer, students will receive a Certificate of Completion from RSPCA NSW.
