In 2024 alone, we made multiple written submissions and provided expert evidence at more than a dozen parliamentary hearings, including inquiries into Pounds in New South Wales, the Veterinary Workforce Shortage, and The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Amendment (Virtual Stock Fencing) Bill 2024.
Our advocacy efforts contributed to several key legislative reforms, including amendments to the Bail and Other Legislation Amendment (Domestic Violence) Bill 2024, ensuring animal cruelty offences are considered in bail applications. We also played a role in the Pet-Friendly Strata Reform, which removed unfair fees and bonds that discouraged pet ownership in strata housing.
Driving policy reform to strengthen policies that directly impact animal welfare protections and management practices.
Collaborating with agencies that assist individuals during emergencies and times of need.
Safeguarding wildlife and marine animals by reducing harm and detrimental human interference.
Improving access to veterinary services, including affordable health checks and desexing initiatives in remote, disadvantaged, and underserviced NSW communities.
Advocate for a holistic, humane, and evidence-based approach to cat management in NSW.

We rely on our generous supporters to continue assisting the thousands of animals turning to RSPCA NSW for help. No matter how small your contribution, every gift makes a lifesaving difference for animals in need.
By raising funds and lending a hand to communities and their pets, our volunteers play a pivotal role in our work throughout NSW. If you have a genuine concern for animals and enjoy meeting like-minded people, consider becoming an RSPCA NSW volunteer today!
We promise to uphold the highest ethical standards. Your personal information has never been, and never will be sold or traded to other charities. This is our promise to you.
We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we live and work. We recognise and respect the enduring relationship they have with their lands and waterways, and particularly acknowledge the vital role animals have played in Indigenous life, stories and culture for tens of thousands of years.
