At RSPCA NSW, we acknowledge the crucial role humans play in keeping animals safe, which is why we strive to ensure that animals are being forgotten or left behind. But as a charity, we rely on our kind and generous supporters to help drive the important work we do for the animals of NSW.
Your fundraising efforts can help us continue the work we accomplish in our shelters and veterinary hospitals, enabling us to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals in need. If you’re interested in helping us improve animal welfare in NSW, consider creating a fundraising page for your challenge, sale, or event and help us make a life-changing difference for people and animals seeking support.
No matter what kind of animal companion you’re looking to welcome into your home, RSPCA NSW can help you find your perfect furry friend. Whether you’re adopting from one of our shelters, our adoption centre, or our partners at Petbarn, our wonderful team will be there to support you at every stage of your adoption journey.
Foster carers provide our wonderful animals with around-the-clock care and consideration, as well as a family dynamic our shelters aren’t always able to provide. Whether they’re nurturing orphaned kittens, treating dogs to an out-of-shelter vacation, or helping vulnerable smaller animals rehabilitate and recover, we strive to ensure our foster carers are supported.
Our dedicated shelters, veterinary hospitals, and rehabilitation facilities provide housing, treatment, and care for hundreds of animals every day. In addition to our primary facilities, our organisation further consists of volunteer branches and supporter groups. We also run a registered training organisation to help guide anyone looking to nurture their passion for animal welfare.
We know how difficult it can be to find the perfect canine companion. But with Competible, we can help you find your perfect furry friend, ensuring you adopt a dog that compliments your personality, lifestyle, and home.
No matter how excited you are to welcome a new member of the family, it’s important to take the time to plan and find an animal you can truly take care of. Adopting a new forever friend can mean adopting a companion for life, so ensure you understand their needs prior to adoption.
We aim to provide the best support to everyone who chooses to adopt. From general over-the-phone advice to behavioural or veterinary referrals, we have plenty of options available to animal guardians looking for support.

As a charity, we strive to maintain an open-door policy, meaning animals, no matter their background, are never turned away or forgotten. With the aim of keeping devoted pet owners and animals together and improving animal welfare education in NSW, we acknowledge the crucial role humans play in keeping our animals safe.
Your fundraising efforts can help us keep our shelters and veterinary hospitals open, enabling us to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals in need. We not only serve a diverse range of animals – including horses and pocket pets – but also pet owners who require guidance and support. Our Crisis Support Programs provide vital assistance in relation to domestic violence, aged care, homelessness, mental health, and more.
Through our Inspectorate, we also operate the largest animal enforcement unit in NSW. Today, our Inspectorate involves more than 50 Inspectors investigating instances of alleged animal cruelty and a 24-hour call centre equipped to handle reports.
Please consider joining us in our mission to protect and care for animals. Great or small, they deserve our protection and respect – they bring so much joy to our lives and remind us of what it means to live humanely.
Even if you aren’t in the position to donate money to RSPCA NSW, there are so many other ways to give our animals the gift of love. You can support our shelters and adoption centres by providing our teams with essential animal supplies. Our shelters keep a wish list of items such as bedding, towels, and toys – items like these are always in need and greatly appreciated by our shelter animals.
You could also volunteer, become a foster carer, or donate directly to the animals in our care. Even something as simple as purchasing RSPCA Pet Insurance can go a long way, as a portion of your fee contributes directly to the care of animals across NSW.
We promise to uphold the highest ethical standards. Your personal information has never been, and never will be sold or traded to other charities. This is our promise to you.
We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we live and work. We recognise and respect the enduring relationship they have with their lands and waterways, and particularly acknowledge the vital role animals have played in Indigenous life, stories and culture for tens of thousands of years.
