The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals; New South Wales (RSPCA NSW) is an Australian not-for-profit organisation that treats, protects, and rehomes animals. As a charity, we strive to ensure that no animal is turned away or forgotten, regardless of whether they are abandoned, neglected, injured, or surrendered into our care. With goals like empowering and educating communities to improve animal welfare in NSW, we acknowledge the role that humans play in protecting all creatures, great and small. Â
In FY23-24, RSPCA NSW provided care and shelter to 13,082 animals in need.
In FY23-24, RSPCA NSW Inspectors responded to 17,093 cruelty complaints across New South Wales—working tirelessly to protect animals in need.
In FY23-24, our Community Domestic and Family Violence Program provided 10,324 nights of safety for pets in need.
Caring for a pet is a huge responsibility. Thankfully, RSPCA NSW is here to help! We assist pet owners with both educational resources and animal care advice, covering a broad range of topics such as animal enrichment and stray animal care.Â
Our shelters and adoption centre provide housing, treatment, and care for sick, vulnerable, and surrendered animals. All RSPCA NSW shelters promote, support, and facilitate adoptions, ensuring a brighter future for animals in need.Â
Our veterinary hospitals provide both pets and shelter animals with high quality care. Funds generated by our veterinary hospitals contribute directly to providing treatment, nutrition, and housing to sick and injured strays and animals seeking their forever homes.
RSPCA NSWÂ develops and supports a range of education programs and purpose-built learning resources. Our educational programs and materials are designed to foster respect for animals and encourage young people to develop a stronger connection to animal welfare.
RSPCA NSW offers a range of short and accredited courses, covering topics such as Basic Animal First Aid and microchipping pets. Our trainers instruct both students and visiting organisations, maintaining skills by actively engaging in animal welfare work.Â
Our programs and outreach initiatives aim to keep people and animals together by strengthening the human and animal bond. By exploring values not traditionally expressed in impact reports and financial statements, we’re continually assessing the overall impact of our work.Â
Each day, we shine a spotlight on an animal in need, like Warwick, to help them find a loving home or foster care.
