Hi there, I’m Penelope!
I may look like an ordinary tabby, but I carry the grace and elegance of my ancestors who first stepped off the African plains and into ancient Egyptian homes. I’m not just a cat—I’m a direct link to the goddess Bastet herself! If you’re lucky enough to adopt me, just know that you’ve been specially chosen by a goddess. Don’t worry, though—I don’t expect royal treatment. All I ask for is a safe, loving home filled with gentle pats and plenty of face and neck scratches.
I’ll be honest—I’m a shy girl. It takes me some time to warm up to new people and places, so I need a quiet and calm household where I can feel safe. Little kids can be a bit too much for me, so I’d do best in a home without children under 12. I’m not a fan of being picked up; I prefer to do things on my terms. But once I learn to trust you, I promise I’ll shower you with affection.
I love playing with small cat balls and string toys—chasing them is so much fun! When I first come home, don’t be alarmed if I spend a lot of time hiding. It’s just my way of adjusting to my new environment. If you provide me with plenty of cozy hiding spots, I’ll feel much more secure.
Traveling isn’t my thing—I’m more of a stay-at-home kind of girl. But once I’m comfortable, I really enjoy being brushed, especially if you scratch my back while you’re at it. That’s my happy place!
If you’re patient, understanding, and ready to give me the time and space I need to adjust, I know we can become the best of friends.
