Little bit about Red, the Rescuoodle

Hi there! I’m Red, a super handsome 5-year-old Kelpie, and I’m on the hunt for my forever home! I might not have the most original name, but I promise I’m one of a kind! I might be a little shy at first, but I’m working hard every day to be brave. And guess what? I’m doing an amazing job! Each day, the world feels a little less scary—especially when I’ve got my humans by my side helping me out.

When I come to say hi, I can’t help but wiggle my butt and wag my tail like a little goofball. It’s my way of saying, “I like you!” And if you’re lucky, I’ll even lean my butt against you for some pats. That’s my signature move. I know, I’m adorable, right?

Meeting all the family members before the big move would be great. I just like to take things one step at a time to make sure we’re all on the same wavelength. And I’d do best with an experienced owner who knows a thing or two about dog body language and can let me set the pace. I’m not one for a lot of hands-on fussing, but with a bit of gentle encouragement, I’ll start coming around in no time.

Now, training? Yep, I’m up for that – slow introductions to new things are my style, and I’d love to work on building my confidence. I’d also benefit from a bit of touch tolerance training. Nothing too fast, though; let’s take it nice and easy!

Kids might not be the best match for me since I’m not into pats and cuddles. I need folks who can respect my space and know that a gentle approach works wonders.

I’m also totally cool with meeting other dogs, and I was pretty polite and calm during my evaluation. In fact, I’d love a confident dog buddy in my new home – they could show me the ropes and help me get comfortable in this big wide world.
