Little bit about Red, the Rescuoodle

**Hi there, I’m Red!** 

I’m a 1-year-old Kelpie with a big heart and a lot of love to give. Life has been a little overwhelming lately, and I’m feeling scared here at the shelter. But I just know that with the right person, I can grow into the confident, happy boy I’m meant to be. 

I’ll be honest—I’m a little shy when I meet new people or face new things. I just need some time to feel safe and learn to trust. Once I do, I’ll be your most loyal friend and cuddle buddy. 

I’m looking for a calm and quiet home where I can relax and feel safe. Loud noises and busy environments make me nervous, so a peaceful household would be perfect for me. Right now, I’d do best as the only pet in the home while I adjust to my new life. Sudden movements and unpredictable energy can startle me, so I’m hoping for a home without children under 12 years old. Since I’m a Kelpie, I’m smart and full of potential, but I’ll need someone who understands my breed and knows how to help me thrive. 

I respond best to gentle, force-free training methods that use positive reinforcement. Treats, praise, and patience go a long way in helping me learn and feel secure. With consistent, kind guidance, I’ll build confidence and show you just how clever I can be. 

I’d love a place where I can spend time both indoors with my family and outdoors stretching my legs. With patience, love, and understanding, I’ll be the best companion you could ever ask for.
