Little bit about Mambo, the Rescuoodle

Hey, I’m Mambo, a brown and white Staffy with a laid-back vibe once I feel at home. I’m on the quieter side and might need a little time to get comfortable, but with the right person, I promise to come out of my shell and show you just how sweet I can be.

I’m looking for an experienced owner who knows how to take things slow. New places and unfamiliar situations can stress me out a bit, so I need someone who can understand my body language and give me the space I need. Once I’ve had time to decompress, you’ll see that I’m actually a pretty easygoing guy—just need someone who gets me.

It’s really important that I meet all members of the family before we make things official. I can be a bit timid with new people, but I warm up once I know I’m safe. A patient, gentle approach is key.

I also need to meet any dogs in the household. I came in with another dog and, while I can get a little frustrated on walks when I can’t say hello right away, I’m really appropriate when given the chance to meet other dogs. I do better when I have space, so if you’ve got a big yard, that would be awesome! Having indoor-outdoor access would help me feel more comfortable and give me the freedom to move around at my own pace.

No children under 15 for me, please. Sudden movements and close handling can make me uneasy, and older kids are more likely to understand and respect my boundaries. And, if you’ve got pocket pets, I might not be the best fit—I’ve been known to chase small animals.
