Hi, I’m Pudge! I might look like a big, wrinkly teddy bear with my serious face, but underneath it all, I’m just a soft-hearted soul looking for love and a place to finally call home. I’m a 2-year-old Dogue de Bordeaux—a loyal, strong, and affectionate breed with roots going back over 600 years in France. Historically, dogs like me were guardians, hunters, and even war dogs, but these days, I’m all about forming deep, lasting bonds with my people. I came into care through no fault of my own, and while my start in life hasn’t been the easiest, I haven’t let that dim my spirit. I can be a little shy when meeting new people or facing unfamiliar situations, but once I know I’m safe, my loving nature shines through. That’s why I’m hoping to find an experienced owner—someone who understands my breed and can offer me the patience and consistency I need to blossom. My ideal home is a quiet one, with adults or older, confident kids (6+) who respect a dog’s space. I’m not cut out for apartment living; I love spending time outdoors, relaxing in the yard and soaking up the fresh air. A secure 6-foot Colourbond fence is a must for me—I like having my own safe space to roam and unwind. It’s also really important to know that I’m not suited to living with small animals like cats, rabbits, birds, or pocket pets. I have a high prey drive, so I’ll do best in a home where I’m not tempted by little critters.
