Hello! My name's Shadow, it's so nice to meet you! I'm a very sweet gal who's on the lookout for my furever home, could that be with you? Here's a little about me so you can find out!
I found myself in shelter through no fault of my own, and it was a big adjustment! I haven't had much exposure to the world until now, so at first things were pretty scary for me! But I really wanted to make friends with the staff here and did my best to be brave! Soon enough I came out of my shell and have become a super sweet friendly doggo who always wants to say hello! It took me a while to learn that pats are nice, but I'm doing so well and learning fast, and now I like getting ear scratches and chest pats from all the wonderful staff!
My ideal family will be experienced with dogs and have owned them before. I'll need a helping paw learning new things and expanding my world slowly but surely. It would be great to have a family that understands dog body language and knows to go slow with me, and how to help me learn to be brave and face the big wide world! (Hint: Treats help!) It would be great if any children in the family are old enough to understand my body language too! Then they can jump on board with my training and be a part of the learning experience! But if you don't have any children that's okay! I'll be your (fur)baby!
Other dogs make me quite unsure, especially when they bark at me, that's super scary! I have been able to say hello to a few calm, friendly dogs, but it was a big step and still quite overwhelming! It would be best for me to be the only dog in the household. I would not be a fan of busy dog parks and things, but I'm okay walking past them.
So if I sound like your pawfect pup, please fill out an expression of interest form here! or visit https://www.rspcansw.org.au/what-we-do/adoptions/exceptional-owners/
Lots of love, Shadow xx
