Hi there my name is David but my friends call me Dave, I am now on the lookout for my very own family and I am hoping that may be you!! I have just recently undergone surgery and lost one of my front legs but as you can see that has not slowed me down. I recently went to the beach for the first time and had a blast chasing and eating the waves. I do get tried so my outings will have to be smaller than other dogs but I would still love to experience everything the world has to offer.
I will need a home that has no stairs and a flat backyard so that I don't put too much stress on my other legs getting around each day. A nice secure backyard is also a must for me so that I can rest and relax while I am alone. When I need to be left alone enrichment is the key to my heart, I love toys and food enrichment, so things like a kong, treasure hunts or mystery boxes are great to keep me entertained while you have to go to work.
I will need older children in the home just so they can understand that I may need some time to settle, loud play and sudden movements can be a lot of me as well. I have been in foster with another dog that is older and calmer and I have enjoyed sharing space with her. I could live with another dog that is calmer and not too active as I do tire easily. It would be best for me to not go to off lead areas as bigger dogs running and jumping on me would not be ideal.
Requirements:
If you think I could be the boy for you, please call the shelter today and ask to say hi!! Love, Dave xoxo
