Little bit about Wags, the Rescuoodle

Hi there! My name is Wags after my happy blur of a tail!

I haven't had the smoothest start to life and am a bit behind on my learning. I am looking for a family who will be patient with me and understand that I might take a little bit longer to get used to the big wide world! But don't worry, I'm really good at learning, especially when there are treats involved. I'm a huge foodie! I will admit that I may have skipped puppy school so my family will need to go back to the basics with me, I promise we will have fun doing this together.

I was very timid when I first arrived at RSPCA but through lots of TLC, the staff have shown me that humans and the big wide world aren't that bad. I am still now seeing and experiencing things for the first time, and they still can be frightening! This is why I need a quiet and calm adult only household where I feel comfortable, it also means that when visitors come to the home I will need a "safe haven", a bed in a quiet/low traffic area that I can go to if I'm not ready to meet them straight away or want some alone time. I have met some doggy friends here at the shelter and this really helps me build confidence. Sometimes though, bigger boisterous dogs can scare me. If you have another dog at home can you please bring them in so I can see if I'll get along, and on that note I'll need to meet the entire family before adoption too.

Now, I love to be given chews and when you do you can see the pure excitement in my eyes. I also love to eat anything smelling vaguely of food but sometimes fail to notice the impending doom of my upset tummy. So the staff here said I need to tell you it may be important to make sure I don't get too carried away when it comes to eating treatos. I LOVE cuddles and pats, and will try to climb onto your lap for them. I have also been known to throw the occasional tantrum if my pats stop. Not to worry though, the staff at the shelter have been laughing at me because all they have to do is distract me with literally anything or of course a chew!
