Little bit about Sweetpea, the Rescuoodle

Hello there, I'm Sweet Pea, a gentle feline with a heart of gold. I've had quite a journey and am now looking for a special home that understands my unique needs.

I'm a bit shy and take some time to warm up to new people and environments, so I need a calm and quiet household. A home without young children (under 12 years) would be ideal for me, as I get easily overwhelmed and need a peaceful space to feel safe. During my time in care, I've had some behavioral struggles. Because of this, I'll be going home with some behavior medication to help me adjust better. Don't worry, my new family will get a free vet consult at the time of adoption to ensure everything goes smoothly. I can get over-aroused with too much handling, which might result in a swipe or two, so patience and gentle interactions are key. I've also had a dental procedure that led to a few extractions, but I'm doing well now.

When it comes to food, I'm a bit of a fussy eater. I prefer smelly, fishy wet food and soaked dry food in a stainless-steel bowl. Despite my standoffish nature, I have a lot of love to give once I feel comfortable. I'm looking for experienced cat owners who understand that every cat is unique and that I need time to trust and feel secure. If you have a quiet home and a heart full of patience, I could be the perfect companion for you.
