Little bit about Mila, the Rescuoodle

Hi there! My name is Mila and I am a very special lady who is on the lookout for her equally as special home. I arrived at the RSPCA through no fault of my own and was unfortunately a little worse for wear – so I have been on the mend at the shelter and in foster care and am finally ready to land my furever home!

If you think my size is big just wait until you see my personality. I really am a one-of-a-kind girl. I am incredibly affectionate, a HUGE couch potato and a little bit dopey at times. Great Danes are known to have a quite a few interesting quirks, so I ask that my new family have had previous experience with my breed. While some may say I am one of the largest dog breeds in the world, I would say that I am in fact, the perfect size to fit in your lap. I love nothing more that cuddling up to my humans and will squeeze myself into just about any space to be near them. Don’t let my age and size fool you, I am a big baby at heart, and I can be a little nervous when it comes to meeting new people. For this reason, I will need to go to a quiet household with a family that is respecting of my boundaries, are able to understand my body language and when I may be needing some space.

In general, I am a pretty low-energy girl; but sometimes I will get into a bit of a silly, goofy mood and zoom (bulldoze) my way around the house; and while I don’t really jump up, I have a pretty strong lean to me, so it’s best that I go to a more mature household with no young children. Not to toot my own horn too much but I am a really clever girl – I am toilet trained and know how to sit, shake, lay down and go to bed! I am highly food motivated so would love to bond with my humans over some fun positive reinforcement training. Whether it is going out on adventures or chilling at home on the couch; I am at my happiest when my human is with me. I am hoping my new family will be home often and be able to spend lots of time with me. I understand that you may have to attend to your silly human business every so often, so just make sure to provide me with lots of toys, enrichment and a warm bed to relax in while I am alone. I also cope a lot better alone when given access to inside the house and will usually just take a long nap until my family returns. I behave nicely around other dogs but am not too fond of them in my personal space so would much prefer to be the only dog in the home.
