Little bit about Tank, the Rescuoodle

Hey there! The name’s Tank, and I’m the next big star at the shelter—everyone’s falling for my Aussie Cattle cross charm! I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself because, well, new situations and new people can be a bit overwhelming for me. You see, I’m a bit of an introvert. But don’t worry, I’m learning to be more confident each day with the help of my amazing friends at the shelter.

They’ve been working with me using positive training techniques, to help me manage my big emotions and build up my confidence. I’m making great progress after over 150 days in care, and I’m SOOOO ready to be adopted and meet my new family! I can’t wait to continue learning and growing with them all.

Now, let’s talk about what I need from you. I’m looking for a patient and understanding partner or partners in crime, to help me with my training and confidence. I’ve been told that I’m “very switched on” and I promise I’m a quick learner! I’ll be honest—I’m not the best with cats or pocket pets, so I’d do best in a home without them. I also need a securely fenced yard where I can safely explore and burn off some energy.

It’s important that I meet all the dogs, children, and family members in the home before moving in. I get along well with doggy friends, but I can get a bit too excited sometimes, so introductions are a must. As for kids, I’m looking for dog-confident children who are 12 years or older and that have experience around other dogs of a similar size.

I’ve heard about something called a “backyard,” and it sounds like a dream! An area all for me to run around, climb, sniff, and explore; at the shelter we have grass yards, but I have to share them with all the other doggies. Sigh. But don’t think I’m just an outdoor adventurer; I also love lounging inside, playing with my toys, or chasing butterflies in my dreams.

Since I can get a bit worried or overwhelmed, I’d be best with someone who’s able to explain to others what I need and will advocate for me in situations when I’m feeling overwhelmed. So, what do you think? Do you have space in your home and heart for a Tank? Not like an actual tank though, just me. TANK!!!

  • Indoor/outdoor access.
