Hi there! My name is Princess and I'm a senior cat that is looking for a loving home in which to spend my golden years. Being a senior cat, I have already gone through my crazy teenage years and am a bit more laid back and relaxed than a younger cat and so what you see is what you get. I can be a shy girl at times and I would prefer to go to a quiet and mature adult only household with no other pets. I also have medication to help with my anxiety during stressful events, ask staff for more information.
During my lovely stay with the RSPCA it was discovered through radiographs that I have Osteoarthritis in my hips and stifles, and I'm currently receiving lifelong medication in order to help manage my arthritic pains. Due to my arthritis I do not like to be picked up and handled much, but I still have lots of love to give to my special human. During my time in foster care I really enjoyed sleeping on a soft bed in the sun during the day and at night I would snuggle up with my human in their bed and either sleep under the blanket curled up against my human or I'd climb up on top on their chest/side/back and curl up to sleep on them. I love getting chin scratches and will often roll over onto my back purring and drooling while getting some really good scratches. Another favorite thing of mine to do is play with a wand toy that they drag across the floor! I may be a senior cat with arthritis but I can stalk, butt wiggle, chase and pounce on these toys like nobodies business!
I've been told that I am also a special Cat-Choo kitty, meaning I have recovered from cat flu (similar to what a cold looks like in humans). While I have recovered, I will always have it in my system and under times of stress I can show symptoms of it again. If in the future you notice me coming down with the "flu" (sneezing, watery eyes, discharge) then it would be best to take me to the vet for a check up. I will need to be kept an indoor only cat for the rest of my life.
The vets noticed that I was not good at cleaning my teeth and that I had dental disease (tartar and gingivitis) and needed some teeth removed. To help me, they removed my bad teeth and gave my remaining teeth a good clean before I was made available for adoption. The good news is that this can be managed with a dental diet, dental chews and teeth brushing. It would be best if you get my teeth checked once a year by vets to see how I am going with keeping my teeth healthy and clean.
Majority of my health issues have been managed and resolved, except for my osteoarthritis which does require lifelong pain management. Due to my medical history it is recommended that I go home with an experienced owner. The staff are more than happy to discuss with you any questions you may have and our RSPCA veterinarians are also available to speak with interested adopters to ensure you can give me the best care possible.Â
The lovely staff have also told me that in order to assist with the cost of my ongoing osteoarthritis treatment I have a special adoption package that will be given to the furever person that adopts me! My special FREE adoption package is valued at over $315 and includes the following items: 15ml Metacam bottle, 50ml 4CTYE bottle, ONE FREE Solensia Injection, Da Bird toy (Favourite toy to play with), 3.5kg bag of Royal Canin Indoor 7 plus, Kazoo Peacock soft bed (small), Bravecto PLUS for Cats Spot on 2pack. WHAT A BARGAIN RIGHT! What are you waiting for?! Contact the shelter today to speak with the staff about meeting me!
Love Princess xXx
