Hi, I’m Riley! I’m a unique guy, and I’ve come such a long way since I first arrived. These days, I love being part of the action—whether it’s cuddling up or just being around to see what you’re doing, I want to be right there with you. I’m good at keeping myself calm when you’re not around and can sleep peacefully through the night.
I’ve learned a lot, like how to better tolerate touch, and I’m no longer guarding my food and water. I even ask for attention! My play is a lot more gentle now, but sometimes I can still get a bit overstimulated. In those moments, I’m not trying to hurt you; I’m just still learning to manage my feelings. Staying calm and redirecting my energy works wonders!
You’ll notice that if I bring toys to you, especially if I’m dropping them by your feet, that’s a sign I’m ready to play. If I start nibbling at your feet, it’s definitely time to grab a string toy and play to wear me out. Keeping up with structured playtime throughout the day really keeps me in the best mood. If I don’t get enough play, I might get a little frustrated, which could mean more playful (and sometimes cheeky) behaviour like mouthing at arms or feet.
Here are some things you’ll love about me:
– Yes, I only one eye, thanks to an injury from my past, but I think it just makes me look cool!.
– Super cuddly and very inquisitive—I’ll always want to see what you’re up to.
– I’m perfectly content on my own and can be quite calm and relaxed.
– I sleep soundly at night and am happy to chill on my own if you need some space.
– I’m great with the litter box, and you won’t have any worries about accidents.
I do best in a home without other cats and with cat-savvy adults or teens over 15 who understand my quirks. It’s also important to give me my space sometimes; asking for “permission” before touching me helps me feel respected.
All I need is a calm, patient home with people who can see how far I’ve come and are ready to keep supporting me as I learn. If you’re experienced with cats and know how to stay a step ahead of my energy bursts (especially in the early morning and evening), we could be the perfect match!
