Little bit about Gretchen, the Rescuoodle

Hello, my name is Gretchen!

Gretchen is a sweet and timid little girl who is just beginning to discover the world around her. Due to her limited life experiences, she may initially be shy and reserved, but with patience and gentle encouragement, there is a chance she will blossom into a loving and loyal companion. Gretchen longs for a calm and understanding environment where she can feel safe and gradually build her confidence.

Gretchen is seeking a loving adult home with an experienced owner who understands the needs of timid dogs. A quiet household with a consistent routine would be ideal for her. She would thrive in a home with another small, friendly dog companion who can help her feel more secure and provide companionship. A securely fenced yard would allow her to explore and play safely, plus toilet when she needs to. Gretchen is still learning basic obedience and leash manners, positive reinforcement training methods along with plenty of patience and encouragement, will help her progress. She may benefit from socialization with gentle exposure to new experiences and environments at her own pace. Gretchen is also on some medication for her shelter stay, so the staff will organize for you to speak to her behavior vet before taking her home, so she won't be a same day adoption, and will most likely require multiple meets with all household members and the other smaller companion dog.
