Hello there! My name is Cooper, and I'm a big boy with a heart as fluffy as my fur. I've had my fair share of ups and downs, but with a little patience and understanding, I know I can find the perfect forever home.
I started my journey at the shelter feeling a bit nervous. However, with time and the care of some wonderful humans, I've made tremendous progress. Now, I'm ready to embark on the next chapter of my life, and I can't wait to find a loving family to call my own.
When I came into the shelter I had something called peridontal diesease. This is when there are dental pockets around my tooth rot which is caused by bacteria, which affects the ligaments and bones around the root of the tooth. Lucky for me, the nice vets took out the bad teeth and gave the rest a good clean. To keep my teeth in tip top shape, it is best if you get me yearly dental check ups and feed me a good dental diet and dental chews.
It may not seem it and I must admit, but I'm a bit on the shy side, and it may take me a while to warm up to new faces. Because of this, I've been told that I would thrive best in a quiet and calm household. Kids might be a bit too much for me, as they could be a little scary, so I will need to go to a house with adult only. I hope you understand – it's not that I don't like them; I just need some time to feel comfortable. I would also be better to be the only animal in the house.
Speaking of comfort, I've been working hard on my social skills, and I've come a long way. I believe I would do best in a home where my humans have some experience with cats. Understanding my feline behaviours will help create an environment where I can truly feel at ease.
Now, about my health – no worries! I come with a free vet consult upon adoption. You see, I'm currently on some behaviour medication that the vet and I have been working on together. This consult will help you understand my needs better and ensure that I continue to make progress in my new home.
I promise, once you get to know me, you'll see what a sweet and affectionate companion I can be. I have so much love to give, and I'm just waiting for the right family to share it with. If you think you could be the one, please consider giving me a chance. I can't wait to meet you and start our new life together.
I am currently hanging out in a lovely foster home while I wait for my new family. If you would like to meet me please contact sydneyfostercare@rspcansw.org.au or call 9770 7503.
