Little bit about Esme, the Rescuoodle

Why hello there lovely humans! I am the wonderful Esme; looking to land my paws into a forever home that is purffect for me – Could this be with you?

Upon arrival to the shelter, the staff quickly discovered that I needed a little time in a quiet foster home for my personality to shine on through. My foster home has been delightful! I have been practicing all the stuff that I am going to be doing in my future furever home… napping a lot, playing with my favourite toys and I've even learned that gentle pats from humans (that I trust) can be super nice. My foster mum has been teaching me that the carrier can be a nice place as well, I've still got a lot to learn but I'll let you in on a little secret… I LOVE my food, so this has been really helpful in motivating me to learn! I am also quite skilled at using a puzzle feeder for my food so I would love to have a few of these in my new home – bowls are so boring for a smarty pants like me!

I am a little on the shy side, so I will need some time to settle into my new home. My ideal home will have lots of safe spaces for me to rest, both on the ground and at vertical height. A couple of huge scratching posts will do the trick! I do love to play so a number of different toys is essential. A few things on my spooky list are vet visits and loud noises so a quiet home with a patient human is a must! My foster mum has been so patient with me as I slowly learn that gentle handling isn't something that needs to be on the spooky list, however, I am still a little unsure. The staff have added in a special handout so that you know exactly how to communicate with me to see if I am open to being touched. I am after a home that is content with my company, athletic antics and any interaction that involves tasty food, string toy play and gentle pats when I consent to receiving them.
