Hey there! My name's Felix, it's nice to meet you! I'm an older gentleman who's on the lookout for my furever home. Could that be you?
Â
In my pawfect home, my people will be home more often than not please! You see I really like my people! Once I get to know you and you become my safe space I get very attached and miss you while you're gone. If I'm left alone too long I tend to get a bit worried so any alone time should be built up slowly please.
I'm an older guy and I don't really show much interest in other dogs. I will usually walk past other dogs without any concerns but sometimes I will bark so it would be best if I was the only pup please so I can comfortably enjoy my home and relax.
I would like to go to a home with just adults please. I'm an older man who needs a mature household who will know to respect my space and not overwhelm me with unpredictable handling and touch. It takes me a moment to warm up to people, so I'd love an adult household where my people can understand this, and will know to read my body language and know when I'm saying I've had enough.
I have spent a long time in care at RSPCA and will need some time to adjust to my new home.
Due to my age I have unfortunately developed cataracts that are having a big impact on my eyesight and ability to manage in new environments.  I need interactions to be calm and predictable as sometimes I can be frightened when things happen that I am not prepared for. Having poor eyesight doesn’t stop me enjoying time outside exercising, and I still love going for walks in familiar areas.
My vets have plans to remove my cataracts to help me regain some more sight, but I will need to settle into my new home first and then have the surgery done after a month or two. This will help me get to know my new family first and allow for a much smoother recovery period.
The cost of the surgery will be covered by RSPCA as part of my adoption agreement and my vets can talk to you about the process if you are interested in meeting me.
My new home will need to be located within the Sydney region to allow for vet visits at RSPCA Veterinary Hospital.
