Finding loving homes and giving pets a second chance.

The RSPCA NSW Sydney Adoption Centre provides housing and veterinary care to abandoned, sick, injured, neglected, and surrendered animals. Animals who turn to our centre for help come from a wide range of backgrounds and homes, from surrenders and injured strays to animals seized by our inspectorate.

Located in Yagoona, our Sydney centre offers countless volunteering opportunities in addition to promoting, supporting, and facilitating animal adoptions. Here, our teams assist a network of amazing foster carers, and offer pet care products and supplies through an on-site retail shop.

Adjacent to the centre is our Sydney Veterinary Hospital, which offers its services to both the public and the animals in our care. Our veterinary team can assist with a wide range of treatments and procedures, from routine spaying and desexing to orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeries. Furthermore, our Sydney premises boasts our brand-new Education Centre, perfect for facilitating training opportunities, corporate experiences, and events.

The Sydney Adoption Centre rehomes a range of adorable animals, including cats and kittens, birds, dogs and puppies, rabbits, and more! If you’re interested in meeting one of the animals awaiting adoption, come visit the centre or contact our staff at (02) 9770 7577.

Please note that although we update our online lists of available animals every day, there is a chance that an animal you are interested in will have found a home prior to your arrival at our facilities.

If you’re planning on visiting the shelter to adopt, don’t forget to bring a photographic identity document complete with your name and current address. If you already have a dog at home, you may need bring them in for a meet and greet to ensure they’ll get along with your newest furry friend.

Every RSPCA NSW animal that requires desexing, microchipping, parasite treatment, and vaccinations undergoes all these procedures prior to adoption. Each animal also goes through a series of comprehensive veterinary checks along with any necessary training, quarantine, and rehabilitation.

As a charity, we use our adoption fees to help cover a portion of these costs, so we can allocate more of our resources to supporting people and pets in need.
